Common Birds at Moanalua Gardens

Approximately 10 minutes driving from Honolulu Airport, Moanalua Gardens are known for the huge tree. However, it's not just the huge tree and the unique tree benches! Walk around and across the stream to the very back of the garden you will find a place with mango trees , Indian Almond trees that grow interesting woody pods and cute flowers, Peacock flowers, Hibiscus, West Indian Jasmine, Puff flowers, Plumeria, and quite a few introduced bird species.

In hot spring/summer days, you may firstly smell over-ripening sweetness before noticing the fallen ripe mangoes all over the ground. If you are interested in birds-watching in Honolulu, you may come here, and if lucky and timing is right, you might see a few birds as I have seen below:

Red Whiskered Bulbuls, Red-Vented Bulbuls, White Rumped Shama,
Rose-Ringed Parakeets, Yellow Fronted Canary, Mynas,
